From Taclug

Welcome, This is the home of the Tacoma Linux User Group or TACLUG, a non-profit group of Linux enthusiasts who meet each month to share information about this great operating system. *BSD, Unix, Mac and other computer enthusiasts are welcome too.

Membership is open to the public so everyone should feel welcome to check out a meeting and/or the mailing lists. Wiki accounts may be obtained by sending a message to the Taclug general mailing list (http://www.taclug.org/mailman/listinfo/taclug-general).

Topic Solicitation

What do you want to see at the Taclug meetings? Would you be interested in more hands on electronics activities? How would you like some serious Drupal hacking? Would you like to find out everything there is to know about Linux firewalls? Perhaps you would be interested in simple tips like the magic of GNU screen? Please add topics of interest to you on our Ideas page. If you need a wiki account you can get one be emailing the Taclug general mailing list (http://www.taclug.org/mailman/listinfo/taclug-general) and requesting one.

Next Meeting

The next TACLUG social event is at the HUB (http://hub.harmonbrewingco.com/) (Google maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=203+Tacoma+Ave+S,+Tacoma,+WA+(The+Harmon+Hub))), Tuesday September 30th from 5:15 to whenever everyone goes home.

Proposed next regular meeting is Saturday October 18th from 1:00-5:00pm at TBD.

We held a special organizing meeting Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Black Water Coffee (http://www.google.com/search?q=black+water+near+tacoma%2C+WA) located at 747 Fawcett Ave. Details will be posted soon. The last general meeting was held at Tacoma UW Campus, Cherry Parkes Bldg. during June2008.

Linuxfest Northwest 2008

Linuxfest Northwest 2008 (http://www.linuxfestnorthwest.org/) has past. The event was held Saturday and Sunday the 26th and 27th of April at the Bellingham Technical College. More information is available on the Linuxfest website (http://www.linuxfestnorthwest.org/).

This Wiki is the complete web presence of TACLUG on the Web. If you feel the need to have an account to edit content on this wiki please send a message to the Taclug general mailing list (http://www.taclug.org/mailman/listinfo/taclug-general).

A little work is necessary to open up editing of this wiki to all Taclug members. We're looking for a volunteer wiki-master to perform some much needed wiki TLC.
